Road to the sky - Mont Washington

Victoria long weekend, we took a short trip to white mountain National Forest area, New Hampshire.
Mont Washington is our destination.
We were so attracted by it's famous name, Tuckerman Ravine, and the highest point in New England, 6,288 feet at it's summit.
we are so grateful that the weather was much better than we expected...low 2'c and high about 18'c. and the best thing is we had a clear blue sky at summit !!

The Mont Washington auto road is something worth to try:

The hiking was quite difficult, it's really rocky and quite steep. We hiked down for about 45 minutes and had a snack before climbed back. We saw quite a lot hikers from Quebec.

At the top of the mountain, there is this observatory which a group of scientist monitor the weather all the time since 1932. The highest wind speed was captured here at 1934, 231 Miles per hour !!

this house is chained to the ground, otherwise the wind will blow it away :-)

There are at least 7 cats live in the observatory along with the scientists, and this one is named Inga:

from the summit, the view is breathtaking !!

well, you can see the snow even at mid of May...but winter time, you have to take this snowcoach to reach the top:

a little bird is eating at the tray which installed at the outside of this 'Great Glen trial center':

there are quite a lot beautiful places to explore at the bottom of the mountain too:

finally, thanks to mom's yummy and healthy breakfast which gave us enough energy to explore this beautiful mountain !!
